Meridian Kessler Homes for Sale

Meridian-Kessler is a neighborhood that’s approximately four miles away from Downtown Indianapolis. During the late 19th century, a few people arrived to construct properties along Meridian Street and adjacent streets north of the then Maple Road (now 38th Street). In the year 1905, George Kessler, a landscape architect, redesigned Maple Road as an urban parkway to connect to the rest of Indianapolis. In the same year, Indianapolis appended Meridian Street, and that’s why this community’s name is Meridian-Kessler.

Meridian-Kessler is home to over 15,000 residents. This community also has a neighborhood association called the Meridian-Kessler Neighborhood Association, an organization dedicated to preserving its character and uniting others who live here. Once you move in, you’ll enjoy what it has to offer. The neighborhood has balmy temperatures, beautiful green spaces, and mature trees. All of these components combined are a perfect complement to a morning jog or an evening stroll. Since this community is like its own village, there’s plenty to do to keep you busy and entertained. It’s right next to the Indiana State Fairgrounds, so the local fair or a concert is only a short walk away. A few blocks away from the fairgrounds is the Indiana Farmers Stadium, a place where you can see a hockey game or any other event. Other attractions in the neighborhood are devoted to the arts like the Basile Opera Center and the Eckert Fine Art Galleries. Meridian-Kessler has about 40 elementary, middle, and high schools in its vicinity. The Meridian-Kessler Neighborhood Association does everything possible to encourage communication between families and school personnel.
